What Is RYLA?
RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) is a life-changing leadership training program where young people learn, develop, and enhance leadership skills and principles in an atmosphere of trust and respect. RYLA encourages and assists current and potential youth leaders in methods of responsible and effective leadership. Many past RYLArians claim, “It was the best week of my life!”
The two RYLA Conferences are held at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colorado. These conferences are also referred to as Senior RYLA.
Any high school sophomore, junior, or senior may apply to attend RYLA. Generally, applicants selected have excelled in one or more areas of high school involvement and have potential or proven leadership experience.
The dates for the two Senior RYLA conferences in 2022 are:
RYLA-1: Sunday, July 17 – Friday, July 22, 2022
RYLA-2: Sunday, July 24 – Friday, July 29, 2022
Applicants MUST be able to stay for all 5 days of the conference!
The two Young RYLA Conferences are held at two different locations depending upon the specific week. Any current 7th grader may to apply to attend the Young RYLA Conferences.
For 2022, the dates and locations for Young RYLA are as follows:
RYLA Plus is a leadership training program, fully developed and sponsored by Rotarians in the Rocky Mountain Region and designed especially for teenagers who have physical disabilities. RYLA Plus partners with Easterseals Colorado to host their RYLA at an ADA-compliant camp facilities with trained medical/counselor staff to support campers’ special needs while at RYLA.
